About
OCT 17 BOSTON is the blog behind a day of activism that encourages peace and social justice groups throughout New England to join forces and speak out against the war in Afghanistan with a single united voice.
Planning stages are well underway for a mass demonstration at Copley Square on October 17. A rally and march has been endorsed by dozens of peace and social justice groups within days of our first meeting. Thousands of ordinary citizens have expressed their support as the war escalates and unemployment rolls overflow.
Please join us in an all out grassroots effort to come together and help build a world based on peace and social justice – not just for us – but for everyone hurt by disaster capitalism and the politics of empire.
We steer by the salient words of Daniel Berrigan – legendary activist and unflagging moral conscience – on whose shoulders stand generations against war:
“One cannot level one’s moral lance at every evil in the universe. There are just too many of them. But you can do something, and the difference between doing something and doing nothing is everything.”
